El artículo propone una reflexión sobre la dimensión ética en el siglo XXI y su aplicación en el proceso psicoterapéutico grupal. Se parte de una revisión de los distintos enfoques de acercamiento a la cuestión ética, incidiendo en la comprensión de los conceptos de ética y moral, para desarrollar después lo que hemos denominado “ética del encuentro”. Esta ética está muy vinculada al proceso evolutivo del grupo y el desarrollo moral en el ser humano. Finalmente se incide en el concepto de interdependencia como respuesta al complejo binomio dependencia libertad, base de la ética que defiende este trabajo y punto central de cualquier proceso terapéutico grupal, inseparable del contexto social del siglo XXI.
