Objetivo: avaliar a efetividade dos métodos não farmacológicos de alivio da dor no trabalho de parto. Método: trata-se de uma pesquisa observacional descritiva, transversal de abordagem quantitativa. A coleta de dados foi definir o grau de dor por meio da escala visual analógica de dor antes e após a aplicação dos métodos não farmacológicos de acordo com os critérios de inclusão estabelecidos. Resultados: a amostra final contou com 27 pacientes, após análise por meio do teste de normalidade Shapiro Wilk, foi definido a apresentação dos resultados em mediana e quartis. Foi observado melhora da dor nos métodos de respiração orientada, massagem e banho morno. Conclusão: os métodos não farmacológicos são de suma importância para alívio da dor no trabalho de parto, cabendo ao enfermeiro obstetra acompanhar orientar e auxiliar a mulher durante o processo.
