Avaliação do perfil epidemiológico da tuberculose e a sua coinfecção TB-HIV nos estados da Paraíba e Rio Grande do Norte Evaluation of the epidemiological profile of tuberculosis and its TB-HIV coinfection in the states of Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte
RESUMO O olho humano frequentemente é susceptível a infecções em sua superfície, seja por desequilíbrio da microbiota normal ou pela aquisição de microrganismos exógenos, assim como pela deficiência do sistema imune ocular. O tratamento das lesões oculares baseia-se atualmente no uso de antimicrobianos de amplo espectro, porém algumas espécies podem adquirir resistência, tornando difícil o controle dessas infecções. Este estudo retrospectivo de caráter epidemiológico teve por objetivo analisar os dados individuais (idade e gênero) e o diagnóstico microbiológico das infecções oculares em pacientes atendidos no Hospital Universitário Onofre Lopes (Natal/RN) no período durante 2016 e 2017. Constituiu-se de uma pesquisa descritiva baseada na coleta de dados sobre a prevalência dos agentes isolados, o tipo de espécime clínico, bem como a análise do perfil de sensibilidade aos antimicrobianos utilizados no tratamento de rotina dessas infecções. Dentre os microrganismos encontrados 58% eram bactérias, e 42% fungos. Entre as bactérias Gram-negativas, a mais prevalentes foram espécies de Pseudomonas, encontradas em 44,8% das infecções bacterianas. Entre os fungos, o mais prevalente foi o Fusarium spp., encontrado em 90,5% das infecções fúngicas. Observou-se uma associação significativa entre a infecção pelo gênero Fusarium e faixa etária entre 25 a 49 anos. Dentre as bactérias Gram-positivas, a mais prevalente foi Staphylococcus aureus, encontrado em 17,2% das infecções bacterianas. O espécime clínico com maior positividade nas culturas foi o raspado de córnea, representando 70% dos casos. Com relação ao perfil de sensibilidade aos antimicrobianos, a maioria das bactérias isoladas se mostraram sensíveis aos fármacos usados na prática oftalmológica, porém, algumas delas tais como as Pseudomonas spp., o Staphylococcus coagulase negativa, o Acinetobacter spp. e a Enterobacter spp. se mostraram resistentes. Conclui-se que, os dados aqui reportados poderão contribuir com o trabalho dos profissionais que atuam na área oftalmológica e estudos epidemiológicos futuros que retratem a prevalência das infecções oculares, especialmente para o levantamento de espécies microbianas ambulatoriais com resistência antimicrobiana.
