Aesthetic properties are essential for improving the total quality of non-woven fabrics in order to utilize the fabrics in further applications. These aesthetic properties are influenced by different technologies applied in non-woven fields. In this study experiments were conducted to make "fibro-patterning" on non-woven fabrics and the same patterns were also reproduced on the same substrate by printing. Subjective evaluation to identify the differences between the fibro and print patterning technologies with aesthetic and KANSEI properties of non-woven fabrics was investigated using 8 categories (vivid colors, clear-cut, transparency, variety, intimate sense, texture and material effect, substrate and pattern matching, layering). Their criteria were suggested to examine the visual and sensing qualities of the samples. The results indicate that according to judge's ratings, fibro-patterning enables non-woven fabrics to achieve more aesthetic qualities. Finally the correlation between the criteria of evaluation and the two patterning methods were analyzed.
