Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate conceptually the relationship between the customer’s engagement and equity and to determine whether customer engagement could be positively enhanced by business-to-business (B2B) firms to maximize their customer equity, through examining the role of cognitive, emotional and behavioral engagement. Design/methodology/approach This paper is built on the evolving marketing literature and proposes a comprehensive framework that uses a multidimensional conceptualization for the customer’s engagement and equity constructs; examines the relationships between customer satisfaction, commitment, trust and involvement and customer engagement; and specifies the specific customer engagement dimensions – cognitive, emotional and behavioral – as key mediators of the engagement–equity relationship. Findings This paper indicated that customer engagement is a multidimensional construct with three dimensions: cognitive, emotional or behavior engagement. Customer’s satisfaction, commitment, trust and involvement would be regarded as antecedents to customer engagement, whereas customer equity would be regarded a consequence for customer engagement. In addition, this paper identified three drivers of customer equity – value, brand and relationship equities – based on reviewing the previous studies. Originality/value This paper integrates philosophies from previous marketing studies of customer relationship management and customer engagement and equity into a B2B environment in a more customer-centric approach.
This current study purposes to identify the relationships between service recovery strategies, service recovery satisfaction, and both dimensions of customer loyalty in regard to Internet providers using the partial least squares (PLS-SEM) approach on a sample of 430 internet customers in Egypt. This study contributes insights into how seven service recovery strategies affected customer loyalty with its both attitudinal and behavioral dimensions directly and indirectly via service recovery satisfaction. These insights are helpful for service managers faced with service failure and academicians interested in how service providers respond to service failures and customer dissatisfaction in the B2C context. The results of this study show that some SR strategies positively influence both service recovery satisfaction and customer loyalty toward internet providers. Furthermore, service recovery satisfaction positively influencing the customer loyalty. In addition, SRS plays a mediating role in the relationship between SR strategies and customer loyalty. The results highlight that internet service providers should implement SR strategies quickly and with an empathetic manner to satisfy customers and to encourage customer's loyalty. Finally, some implications and further research directions were presented.
This study aims to investigate, using the structural equation modeling with a partial least square (PLS-SEM) approach, the relationship among service recovery strategies, relationship quality, and customer patronage intentions concerning Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Egypt. Our findings confirmed that some service recovery strategies positively influence on both relationship quality and patronage intentions. As well as, relationship quality has a significant impact on customer patronage intentions. Furthermore, relationship quality has the role of a mediator of the relationship between SR strategies and patronage intention. Moreover, both speeds of recovery and empathy moderate the relationship between some SR strategies and relationship quality. Finally, our study proposed some theoretical and managerial implications.
PurposeDespite the significance of donations (Sadaqah) via mobile payment in Islamic countries, little is known about the variables influencing continuance intention toward using m-payment for donations (Sadaqah). Based on the stimulus-organism-response (S-O-R) model, this research explores the influence of perceived quality (i.e. system, information, service) as a stimulus on customer satisfaction, engagement and delight as organisms, which then affects continuance intention toward using m-payment for donations (Sadaqah) as a response. Moreover, the study investigates the moderating role of Islamic religiosity.Design/methodology/approachUsing partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), a representative data sample of 419 Egyptian Muslims was analyzed to test hypotheses.FindingsThe findings revealed that all perceived quality constructs significantly positively affect customers' satisfaction. Customer satisfaction, in turn, positively affects customer engagement and delight. Moreover, customer engagement, delight and Islamic religiosity significantly positively affect continuance intention toward using m-payment for donations (Sadaqah). The findings also revealed that Islamic religiosity moderates the influence of customer engagement and customer delight on continuance intention toward using m-payment for donations (Sadaqah).Originality/valueThis is the first study to examine using m-payment for donations (Sadaqah) in an Islamic environment based on the S-O-R model.
This study aims to investigate the direct effect of country branding on competitive advantage, applying it to the commercial aviation industry in Egypt. The results of the analysis showed that there is a positive relationship between the country branding and competitive advantage in Egyptian commercial aviation industry. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: the necessity of concluding strategic alliances for the purpose of establishing new airports and developing the existing ones, increasing the air fleet, in order to accommodate and increase the number of flights and achieve a competitive advantage, thus building a good reputation for the country and building a brand for the nation, which contributes to attracting more air traffic.
