Bei Untersuchungen fiber die Suszeptibilit~ten einiger Emulsionen fiel es uns auf, dal~ die U-Rohr-Methode yon Piccard. und Bauer, wie aueh die yon uns benutzte Modifikation dieser Methode eigentiimliche Erseheinungen zeigte, wenn infolge yon Temperaturgnderungen die Benetzung sieh ~nderte.Diese Beobaehtung und die yon Cabrera und FahlenbraGh 1) an einigen Ergebnissen yon I~. N. Mathur 2) geiibte Kritik veranlal~ten uns, die Beziehungen zwischen Temperatur und Diamagnetismus aufs neue einer grfindliehen Untersuchung zu unterziehen. Die Experimentaluntersuehungen yon Mathur, die sparer yon Bhatnagar, Ma~hur und Azim 3) gewissen theoretischen Sehlfissen zugrunde gelegt wurden, waren naeh der U-Rohr-Methode ausgeffihrt, w~hrend Cabrera and Fahlenbraeh eine yon Dorfman und Kikoin ~) vorgesehlagene Methode versuohten.Zur Geschichte des Gegenstandes ist kurz zu sagen, daft Curie mit wenigen Ausnahmen eine Unabh~ngigkeit des Diamagnetismus yon der Temperatur gefunden hatte. Honda s) konnte dann die Zahl der Ausnahmen vermehren; er land, daft die spezifisehe Suszeptibilitgt beim Tellur und Jod mit der Temperatur abnimmt, wghrend Silber and Germanium das umgekehrte Verhalten zeigen. Naeh Ishiwara e) nimmt der Diamagnetismus mit steigender Temperatur ab. S u c k s mit h v) konnte zeigen, daft der Diamagnetismus beim C~sium naeh dem Sehmelzen abnimmt. Oxley s) untersuchte mehrere feste Stoffe bei versehiedenen Temperaturen and land einen plStzliehen Sprung "con Z beim Sehraelzen. Fahlenbraeh e) land ffir Athylalkohol und Aeeton eine schwache Abnahme der Suszeptibilit~t bei steigender Temperatur. B o e ker ~o) hat einige organische Flfissigkeiten thermomagnetiseh untersueht; die Suszeptibilit~t zeigte dab'~i eine geringe "~mderung, die aber innerhalb der Versuehsfehler tier Anordnung lag. Rao und Sivaramakrishnan ~1) gelangten zu ~hnliehen Ergebnissen.
