Developing new compound distributions which are more flexible than the existing distributions have become the new trend in distribution theory. In this present study, the Lomax distribution was extended using the Gompertz family of distribution, its resulting densities and statistical properties were carefully derived, and the method of maximum likelihood estimation was proposed in estimating the model parameters. A simulation study to assess the performance of the parameters of Gompertz Lomax distribution was provided and an application to real life data was provided to assess the potentials of the newly derived distribution. Excerpt from the analysis indicates that the Gompertz Lomax distribution performed better than the Beta Lomax distribution, Weibull Lomax distribution, and Kumaraswamy Lomax distribution.

A new version of the Exponentiated Burr X (EBX) distribution was introduced and studied in this paper. The method of Nadarajah and Kotz (2006) that was based on Gupta et al., (1998) proposition was used. Mathematical and statistical properties of the EBX distribution such as the limit behaviour, quantile function, moments, moment generating function, entropy and order statistics were explicitly derived. Further, the maximum likelihood estimators of the model parameters were obtained. These estimators were employed in a simulation study using varying sample sizes and true parameter values to assess the performance of this distribution. Application to real data set shows that the EBX distribution has a good model fitting capacity using several selection statistical criteria

Objective: The objective of this study was to compare the clinical and radiographic effects of two medicaments (Glutaraldehyde GA and Collagen) on the pulp tissue of the primary teeth. Subjects and Methods:The present study was composed of 60 primary molars from 30 patients. These teeth were classified into two equal groups. The patients age ranged from 5 to 7 years old. The radicular pulp of the primary teeth were capped with GA in (group A) and collagen in (group B) after pulpotomy procedures. The teeth were assessed clinically and radiographically at different intervals (Three months, six months, and 12 months). Result:The present study revealed that the clinical and radiographic success rate of GA was 80% while the success rate of collagen was 20%. Conclusion:The GA was more useful as pulp medicament materials than collagen after pulpotomy in primary teeth.
