Background:Burns in developing countries account for significant morbidity and mortality which have been shown by increasing burn first aid awareness. In general, flames, scalds, and contact burns are the most common causes, but in children scalds are the most common.Objectives:This study aims to assess the general knowledge and practices related to burn first aid among Majmaah community.Methods:This study is a cross-sectional study. Data were collected in 2018 using convenience sampling technique. Saudi men and women age 18 years and older living in Majmaah were included in the study. Data were collected from 390 males and females. The sample size was collected using precision formula. Data were encoded into Microsoft Excel worksheets and imported to Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS®) software for analysis.Results:A total of 390 individuals responded to the survey. Regarding the demographic data of the study participants, 49.2% were between 30 and 49 years old. Most of them were females (71.8%). Regarding burn first aid knowledge, 82.6% of the study participants knew that the first thing is to stop, drop, and roll when your clothes catch fire, 43.8% knew to apply cold water if hot oil spills on the hands, 41.0% knew that all burn injuries must be treated at hospital, whereas most of them 78.5% knew never to apply raw eggs or herbs to burn wounds.Conclusion:The knowledge of Majmaah community toward first aid is found to be low in spite of most of the respondents having a positive attitude toward first aid. The majority of the study participants (73.8%) were well-educated and had a bachelor's degree.

Abstract Objective: The objective of the study was to determine the current prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection among Dyspepsia patients and correlate this with Endoscopic findings. Methodology: A retrospective, descriptive facility-based study conducted from June to December 2017 to estimate the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori among dyspepsia patients from Majmaah, Sudair, Zulfi and Shaqra areas of Riyadh region, Saudi Arabia.  Four  years data from January 2012 to December 2016 were reviewd by a checklist and analyzed by SPSS. Results: Out of 1398 dyspepsia patients, 485 (34.7%) were positive, and 913 (65.3%) were negative for H-Pylori infection. Majority of patients (81.7%) had gastritis, out of which, 39.9% of gastritis patients were H-pylori positive. The frequency of H-pylori infection was significantly higher among patients with gastritis (p < 0.001). There was no statistically significant difference in the frequency of H-pylori infection among patients with erosion, ulcer, polyp and cancer (p > 0.05). Conclusion: The prevalence of H.Pylori was low as compared to other governorates in the kingdom and regional countries. Gastritis was dominating finding on upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy. Congenital chloride losing diarrhoea (CCLD) is a rare disease caused by mutations in an intestinal chloride/bicarbonate ion exchange channel. Few reports describe CCLD in adults and none has described the impact of a parasitic infection on CCLD. Severe diarrhoea may result in hypokalaemia with QT interval prolongation. Treatment with antiemetics may further increase the QT interval. To raise awareness of this preventable complication, we describe the course of a woman in her 20s with CCLD who developed COVID-19 and a Blastocystis hominis infestation. Treatment with antiemetics and hypokalaemia resulted in prolongation of the QT interval to 640 ms. While, the QT interval normalised with discontinuation of antiemetics and electrolyte replacement, patients with CCLD must take precautions to prevent gastrointestinal infections. Regardless, whenever patients with CCLD present to hospital, the authors recommend monitoring the QT interval and avoiding medications that predispose to torsade de pointes.
