One type of cooperative learning methods is Think Pair Share (TPS). This study aimed at examining the contribution of the TPS method in increasing students' critical thinking in Islamic studies. Particularly, the study investigated the significances of the difference between learned students using TPS method and conventional method, and the effectiveness of TPS learning method. This study used an experimental group and a control group. It is a quasi-experiment with pre-test and post-tests non equivalent control group design. The population of this research are students who take courses in Islamic studies. Samples are taken randomly by taking two classes for an experimental class and a control class. The technique of collecting data was tests, while the technique of data analysis used the statistical technique of t-test (independent and paired samples) within the application of the SPSS release 24 program. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant difference (sig .000) between groups of students who are taught by the TPS Method and conventional Method. In addition, the TPS method has also proven to be effective for teaching Islamic studies which shows a significant difference (sig .000) between the pre-test and post-test.
Buku ajar elektronik bahasa Arab standar merupakan perangkat penting yang mendukung aspek-aspek praktis online pada pembelajaran bahasa Arab sebagai bahasa asing (PBABA). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan karakteristik desain dan muatan wacana buku ajar elektronik bahasa Arab Standar. Kajian difokuskan pada e-text karya Eckehard Schulz yang banyak digunakan di Indonesia dan dibatasi pada tingkat menengah (tingkat B1-B2). Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis wacana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan temuan berikut. Desain e-textbook MSA Schulz berkarakter web based dengan multimedia sebagai resources. Kontennya memprioritaskan materi tata bahasa di setiap awal pelajaran. Meskipun keterampilan berbahasa Arab ditekankan pada penggunaan variasi standar atau modern language, variasi colloquial language mendapat perhatian cukup memadai yang hanya dapat diakses dalam versi e-edition. Dari segi muatan wacana, ia menghadirkan banyak muatan seperti pendidikan, sosial, ekonomi, budaya, politik, agama, lingkungan, dan teknologi. Kutipan yang disematkan di setiap header halaman tidak selalu cocok dengan isi wacana. Yang menarik, wacana agama di dalamnya terlihat lebih diposisikan sebagai fakta sosial-budaya daripada fakta teologis. This study is aimed at describing the characteristic of design and discourse of Arabic e-textbooks of modern standar Arabic e-textbook. It focused on Eckehard Schulz’s E-Textbooks of MSA from the Leipziq University of Germany and limited to intermediate level (B1-B2 levels). The study uses the qualitative research with discourse-analysis approaches.The results showed the following findings. The design character of e-textbook is web based with multimedia such as resources. It’s content prioritizes grammar material in each initial chapter of an electronic textbook. Although Arabic language skills are emphasized in the use of standard or modern language variations, colloquial language variations receive sufficient attention that can only be accessed in the e-edition version. In terms of content of discourse, he presents many contents such as education, social, economic, cultural, political, religious, environmental and technological. The citations embedded in each page header do not always match the contents of the discourse. Interestingly, the religious discourse in it seems to be positioned as a socio-cultural fact rather than theological facts.Keywords: e-textbook, the modern standard arabic, discourse, learning practice
Student admission aims at selecting students who can adapt to the school environment and predict students' academic success. The best student admission system is needed to determine the success of religious education in schools that have a religion-based. This paper presents the results of correlation between predictive test study, cognitive and personality tests toward the students' Islamic achievement in Islamic Subject. This research used a quantitative approach and a survey using three measuring instruments; a learning achievement test, cognitive test, and Big Five Personality test. The subjects of this study were 1396 students from 10 Islamic Senior High Schools conducting religious major program in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that cognitive tests and personality types are significant predictors of religious education achievement. Specifically, verbal tests and reasoning have been significant predictors of religious education achievement as well. Furthermore, from five dimensions of Big Five Personality, the strongest type of personality, openness to experience and conscientiousness are vigorous predictors of the religious education achievement. Agreeableness, extraversion, and emotional stability, however, do not have a significant influence on religious education achievement. Further research can reach the entire national admission system of state Islamic senior high schools in Indonesia namely Islamic senior high schools Insan Cendekia, which is also a state boarding school in Indonesia.
This present study aims to investigate various kinds of representative acts performed in Dalia Mogahed's speech entitled "What It's like to be a Muslim in America?" and to analyze the Islamic values that may be contained in the speech. As a qualitative research, the data of the current study were collected by searching and watching speech videos on Youtube and downloading the videos and the speech transcripts. In investigating the representative acts of Dalia Mogahed, this study applied Searle's (1976) theory of representative speech acts in analyzing the data in the forms of utterances produced by Dalia that were collected from Dalia's speeches. The data that have been obtained were then classified, analyzed, interpreted, and described. The results show that Dalia's 111 utterances were identified as representative acts, consisting of 54 utterances of stating, 32 utterances of describing, 10 utterances of asserting, 9 utterances of informing, 3 utterances of reporting and 3 utterances of predicting. The representative acts in Dalia's speech are reported to contain some Islamic messages.
Abstract This paper discusses altruism in QS. Al-Hasyr verse 9 in Tafsir al-Tanwir wa al-Tahrir and al-Mizan fi al-Tafsir represented by lafadz خصاصة. Altruism is very important to be studied moreover it is related to the problems of the family of the 4.0 era today which are rife with discrimination of women, divorce, and economic problems. Returning to the values of religious altruism is one solution to build a family defense that is sakinah mawaddah and warahmah. The purpose of this study is to understand the comparison of Tafsir al-Tanwir wa al-Tahrir and al-Mizan fi al-Tafsir to understanding altruism khasasah and their implications for family defense in the 4.0 era. To achieve the objectives, the method use id qualitative method with a semantic approach. Through this reading the results obtained in study are; fist; altruism is understood as a voluntary activity carried out by a person or group to help others without expecting anything in return. Second; khasasahin QS. Al-Hasyr verse 9 has several meanings namely; 1) loving his brother because of God, 2) generous and far from being miserly, 3) putting this brother ahead of himself. Through this understanding, the implications derived from the substance of this study are the creation of altruism as a stronghold in the family in this era. Keywords: altruism, QS. Al-Hasyr ayat 9 pada Tafsir al-Tanwir wa al-Tahrir dan al-Mizan fi al-Tafsir yang direpresentasikan oleh lafadz خصاصة. Altruisme sangat penting dikaji apalagi dikaitkan dengan problem keluarga era 4.0 dewasa ini yang marak dengan diskriminasi perempuan, perceraiaan dan problem ekonomi. Mengembalikan pada nilai-nilai altruisme agama menjadi salah satu solusi untuk membangun pertahanan keluarga yang sakinah, mawaddah dan warahmah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami komparasi Tafsir al-Tanwir wa al-Tahrir dan al-Mizan fi al-Tafsir terhadap pemahaman altruisme khasasahdan implikasinya terhadap pertahanan keluarga di era 4.0. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan semantik. Melalui pembacaai ini, hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah; pertama; altruisme dipahami sebagai kegiatan suka rela yang dilakukan seseorang atau kelompok untuk menolong orang lain tanpa mengharapkan imbalan apapun. Kedua; lafad khasasah dalam QS. Al-Hasyr ayat 9 memiliki beberapa makna yaitu; 1) mencintai saudaranya karena Allah, 2) dermawan dan jauh dari sifat kikir, 3) mengutamakan saudaranya daripada dirinya sendiri. Melalui pemahaman ini, implikasi yang didapat dari substansi penelitian ini adalah terciptanya altruisme sebagai benteng pertahanan dalam keluarga di era sekarang ini. Kata Kunci: altruisme, QS. Al-Hasyr: 9, Tafsir al-Tanwir wa al-Tahrir, al-Mizan fi al-Tafsir.
