A 24GHz Intruder detection radar with three vertically-switched-beam antennas has been developed to cover a fan-shaped ground area with 90 degs. in azimuth and 0 to over 14m in range, when mounted at a height of 5m. Each switched beam monitors a different range segment with a monopulse scheme employed to achieve the wide azimuth coverage. An experimental radar with a Tx/Rx module fully assembled with MMIC's successfully detected a human intruder with a position accuracy of 50cm when moving at 1.4m/s.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
