Abstract Currently, many home industries use gas ovens with a closed roasting chamber system, where the hot air that results from combustion does not directly enter the roasting room like the baking process for typical Acehnese cakes (adee kak nah). 14 september 2020 so that the results used use the maximum conventional oven model. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the design study of a roasting oven with an open grill system where the heat of combustion directly enters the roasting chamber. In designing the oven roasting room, data were collected on the parameters of the temperature of the roasting room, the mass of LPG, and the length of the roasting time. These data are needed as input for planning modifications to the oven roasting space. The results of the planning of the modification of the oven, made a model and carried out a simulation to determine the temperature distribution and profile of hot air flow in the roasting room. After the results of the simulation of the oven-baking room model are known, modifications are made to the oven-baking space. The purpose of this study was to determine the temperature and analyze the even distribution of temperature on each shelf in the toaster oven using LPG fuel because it is more efficient and environmentally friendly. The fuel used is very efficient by using this toaster oven because the heat generated is more evenly distributed so that the cakes are cooked more evenly and the air content is 40% at a maximum temperature of 150 oC. the temperature tested is below 100 oC the undercooked and not cooked kueh
Many methods can be used by the community to burn coconut shells into charcoal, one of which is by utilizing appropriate technology fueled by diesel oil, namely shell powder processing machines. The production of briquettes from coconut shells is still limited and has not developed rapidly because the process of shelling coconut shells is still simple thus it takes three to five days. The use of adhesive amounts is not optimal. This is done to fulfill the community's desire; therefore, coconut shell waste can be managed as raw material for making briquettes to become a source of community income. The purpose of this research is to optimize the production of coconut shell briquettes by utilizing appropriate technology fueled by diesel oil. The method used is by conducting a trial process of starch adhesive treatment, namely 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 6%, 6.25%, and 7% with the amount of water 900 ml at a temperature of 70 0C to form gelatinization. As a result, it was found that the best starch adhesive treatment is in the 6.25% test with the ratio of the starch adhesive mixture, shell powder, and water being 0.25: 4: 0.9. It indicates that the resulting briquette shape is more efficient, has high density and small briquette pores.
