Wind Turbine Towers (WTTs) are the main structures of wind farms. They are costly devices that must be thoroughly inspected according to maintenance plans. Today, existence of machine vision techniques along with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) enable fast, easy, and intelligent visual inspection of the structures. Our work is aimed towards developing a visionbased system to perform Nondestructive tests (NDTs) for wind turbines using UAVs. In order to navigate the flying machine toward the wind turbine tower and reliably land on it, the exact position of the wind turbine and its tower must be detected. We employ several strong computer vision approaches such as Scale-Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT), Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF), Features from Accelerated Segment Test (FAST), Brute-Force, Fast Library for Approximate Nearest Neighbors (FLANN) to detect the WTT. Then, in order to increase the reliability of the system, we apply the ResNet, MobileNet, ShuffleNet, EffNet, and SqueezeNet pre-trained classifiers in order to verify whether a detected object is indeed a turbine tower or not.

Chemical mechanical polishing/planarization (CMP) is the primary process used for modern integrated circuits (IC) manufacturing. Modeling of the post-CMP surface profile is critical for detecting planarity hotspots prior to manufacturing and avoiding fatal failures of chips. Electrochemical deposition (ECD) is a key process for the void-free filling of interconnection wires and vias in modern chips. Large surface topography variations generated after ECD affect the post-CMP surface profile. In this paper, several machine learning approaches are used to model surface profiles after ECD that are used as input to CMP models. Different combinations of deep neural networks, long-shortterm-memory (LSTM) recurrent networks, convolutional neural networks and XGBoost algorithms are investigated and compared. The model based on the XGBoost library showed superior performance and accuracy

In this paper, we present deep learning-based blind image deblurring methods for estimating and removing a non-uniform motion blur from a single blurry image. We propose two fully convolutional neural networks (CNN) for solving the problem. The networks are trained end-to-end to reconstruct the latent sharp image directly from the given single blurry image without estimating and making any assumptions on the blur kernel, its uniformity, and noise. We demonstrate the performance of the proposed models and show that our approaches can effectively estimate and remove complex non-uniform motion blur from a single blurry image.

During the last decade, deep convolutional neural networks have significantly advanced the single image super-resolution techniques reconstructing realistic textural and spatial details. In classical image super-resolution problems, it is assumed that the low-resolution image has a certain downsampling degradation. However, complicated image degradations are inevitable in real-world scenarios, and motion blur is a common type of image degradation due to camera or scene motion during the image capturing process. This work proposes a fully convolutional neural network to reconstruct high-resolution sharp images from the given motion blurry low-resolution images. The deblurring subnetwork is based on multi-stage progressive architecture, while the super-resolution subnetwork is designed using the multi-scale channel attention modules. A simple and effective training strategy is employed where a pre-trained frozen deblurring module is used to train the super-resolution module. The deblurring module is unfrozen in the last training phase. Experiments show that, unlike the other methods, the proposed method reconstructs relatively small structures and textural details while successfully removing the complex motion blur.
