The material and energetic utilization of fuel gas from biomass gasification is a focus of extensive research activities since many years. A big problem, which is not completely solved until now, is the high level of higher molecular weight hydrocarbons in the fuel gas. Partial gasification reactions and secondary reactions will form these hydrocarbons, phenols and carbon. These components are important impurities for the further gas utilization. The focus of this paper is the partial oxidation for tar reduction by using catalysts. In the investigated concept the oxygen supply for the partial oxidation will be combined with the catalytic effect in a solid bed
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
