Camellia mingii S.X.Yang is described and illustrated as a new species from southeast Yunnan Province, China. It is morphologically closest to C. pubipetala, but can be easily distinguished by its spiral arrangement of bracteoles and sepals; its bracteoles and sepals lunate, reniform or broadly ovate, glabrous inside and densely puberulent outside; its petals orbicular to short elliptic, puberulent on both sides; and its inner filaments puberulen to ca. 2/3 from base. Molecular analyses based on GBSSI sequences also support C. mingii as a distinct species of yellow camellia. It is ‘Critically Endangered’ (CR) according to the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria.

This paper mainly discusses on what should be paid attention to when innovative ideas in bridge construction are put into practice through analyzing the achievements of China’s modern suspension bridge construction since the initiation of China’s reform and opening up to the outside world. In recent years, some new concepts have been put forward in stiffening beams, cable saddles, cable bent towers and other aspects of the suspension bridge during its development. Among them, some are innovative and useful indeed while some merely meaningless. Analyzing the innovations of suspension bridge has a guiding significance for China’s bridge construction in the future.

In order to assess the service states of the permanent prestress of transverse prestressing bundle for the Xiangjiang Yinpenling Bridge (XYB), the permanent prestress values are measured. Appearance census of the diseases of transverse prestressing bundles for the cable-stayed part, the east and west incremental launching girder parts of the XYB are carried out. Three transverse prestressing bundles of the most serious corrosion are investigated by windowing damage inspection. The measured results and the analysis of the permanent prestress for the XYB show that the average permanent prestress of the three transverse prestressing bundles is about 300MPa to 550MPa, which do not meet the requirements of the design tension stress. It suggests that the appropriate treatment measures should be taken.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
