Abstract:In order to keep pace with the ongoing changes in ICT and increasing common IT competencies requirements, informatics curricula at secondary school level and, consequently, curricula educating informatics teachers must be frequently changed to ensure necessary competencies. This paper proposes collaborative development of informatics curricula assisted by a software tool for compatibility analysis of secondary school informatics curricula and curricula by which teachers of informatics are educated. The proposed software tool relies upon semantic technologies, i.e. ontologies for representation of competence-based curricula and ontology alignment for compatibility analysis. The secondary school informatics curriculum ontology was built to comply with the ACM K12 standard, while the teachers' curriculum ontology was built based on the selected existing curricula. The paper presents a brief description of the software tool and the results of the domain (informatics) segment of teachers' curriculum offered by the selected Serbian university and the standardized ACM K12 compliant secondary school informatics curriculum.
Occupational health and safety represents a set of technical, medical, legal, psychological, pedagogical and other measures with the aim to detect and eliminate hazards that threaten the lives and health of employees. These measures should be applied in a systematic way. Therefore, the aim of this study is to review occupational health and safety legislation in Serbia and the requirements that airports should fulfill for Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series certification. Analyzing the specificity of airport activities and injuries as their outcomes, the article also proposes preventive measures for the health and safety of employees. Furthermore, the airport activities which are the most important from the standpoint of risks are defined, as the goals for occupational health and safety performance improvement.
Abstract:The application of earned value based metrics in Serbia lags significantly behind other developed economies, regardless of the fact that is has proven to be a very useful and flexible tool for prediction of total cost and time of construction projects. This paper aims to contribute to the wider use of earned value management (EVM) as a practical metrics that can be used to track performance of small-scale construction projects. Literature review reveals how the method evolved as a fundamental tool for construction projects monitoring and refers to specific issues concerning its implementation. In order to enable practitioners to realize all advantages of earned value based performance monitoring of small-scale construction projects, the applicability of such methodology is demonstrated through a case study.
