Este estudo trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica sobre os sinais e sintomas de depressão pós-parto, explorando o contexto biopsicossocial. O objetivo é discutir sobre os aspectos sintomatológicos da depressão pós-parto, permitindo viabilizar uma melhor clareza sobre o assunto para puérperas, profissionais da área e áreas afins, bem como para a sociedade em geral. A coleta de dados se se baseou em análise de livros e artigos científicos da área de saúde, pesquisados nas plataformas Scielo, Google acadêmico e Capes. Os artigos foram divididos conforme os indexadores: depressão, pós-parto, fatores biológicos, sociais e psicológicos. O resultado obtido a partir da revisão bibliográfica mostram que evidenciou-se o sentimento de despreparo e de incapacidade da mulher ante a maternidade, conjecturando um fator preponderante para o desenvolvimento da depressão pós-parto, deixando-a suscetível ao sentimento de fracasso e de incompetência para ser mãe.
