Infektion 18 Stunden p.i. bei Mäusen gefunden. 41 Stunden (i.m., i.n.). Summary Studies on the viraemia occurring in Aujeszky's disease The Aujeszky virus can be found in the blood of mice immediately after intracerebral, intramuscular or intranasal injection. This probably represents small amounts of the virus inoculated. A true viraemia was detected in mice 11 hours after intracerebral infection, 12 hours after intramuscular infection and 18 hours after intranasal infection. From the beginning of viraemia to the first appearance of clinical symptoms there was a lapse of 31 hours (i.c.) and 41 hours (i.m., i.n.). The viraemia lasted until the animals died and so is of the persistent type. From these results and earlier studies on piglets the role of viraemia in pathogenesis, epizootiology and prophylactic immunisation is discussed. 41 heures (i.m., i.n.).
