In our study the current informed consent of patients wasn't in desirable condition. The Necessary measures are required to achieve a level that the patients' informed consent convert to informed choices. Hospital healthcare team need to take proper actions such as give proper information, patient training, sufficient information and etc.
The structural control of the building is a critical part of mitigating the catastrophic consequences of the earthquakes. The active control of structures has gained popularity in the construction industry because of its ability to adapt to different ground motion characteristics. The active tuned mass damper (ATMD) is one of the most versatile devices used for active structural control. This paper uses the ATMD and variable fractional order fuzzy PID (VFOFPID) controller for improving the performance of building structures subjected to horizontal ground motions. Having obtained the response of an 11-story shear building with this controller, the optimized control forces are determined through the pattern search algorithm and the performance indices of the system subjected to 100 different ground motions are evaluated. The performance indices are compared with those of uncontrolled as well as genetic fuzzy and fuzzy PID controlled structure. The results indicate that the VFOFPID controller proposed here can effectively reduce the drift and the absolute acceleration of the structure.
Introduction: Dental caries is an infectious disease, and various microorganisms are involved in its progression. The common antibacterial agents against oral pathogens have many side effects and their excessive use cause drug resistance. Therefore, the identification of natural compounds and medicinal plants with antibacterial activity has been considered by the researchers. The Sumac (Rhus coriaria) is one of the native plants of Iran, which used as a food flavoring. Aims & Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of Sumac essential oil on oral pathogens, including Streptococcus mutans, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and Actinomyces viscosus. Materials & Methods: In this study, the Sumac essential oil was prepared and its antibacterial activity was evaluated by disk diffusion, Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) methods on established terminology strains of S. mutans, L. rhamnosus, and A. viscosus. Results: The obtained results showed that the Sumac essential oil has high inhibitory effects against S. mutans, followed by L. rhamnosus and A. viscosus. The predominant compound in the Sumac essential oil was related to Beta-caryophyllene. Conclusion: In conclusion, Sumac essential oil has an appropriate antibacterial activity and can be used in the pharmaceutical industry to produce antibacterial agents and mouthwash, against oral infectious diseases and dental caries.
Embedding an identifying data into digitized music, video or image is known as digital watermarking. Reversible image watermarking is used to embed and extract hidden data to and from the watermarked image without any distortion to the original. In this paper, we propose an improved reversible watermarking scheme using an additive interpolation technique, which increases embedding capacity with inconspicuous degradation of image quality. Unlike former watermarking schemes, a new interpolation-error is exploited to embed bit "1" or "0" using additive expansion or leaving it unchanged. Consequently, original image is remained at a high level of quality. Moreover, a cryptographic scheme is utilized to prevent an adversary from accessing embedded data. Therefore, achieving watermarked data will not be straightforward. The experimental results show that the proposed method in addition to greater embedding capacity, has higher image fidelity compared to previous schemes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
