Health care economics has challenged clinicians to reduce costs and improve resource use in cardiac surgery and anesthesia in a patient population increasing in age and in severity of disease. The results suggest that a high dose of adenoviral vector encoding either AdVEGF or AdLacZ induces angiogenesis in the rabbit hindlimb ischemia model; i.m. injection of adenovirus leads to the transfection of ectopic organs; and AdVEGF gene transfer induces edema in ischemic skeletal muscle.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
