In this study, a new system for earthwork measurements using the Global Positioning System(GPS) has been developed . This paper describes the development of a device to automatically hold an antenna level and a computer program developed for the transformation of coordinates obtained by GPS surveying to the ordinary plane coordinates. This paper gives a report on the earthwork progress measurement system, including its effectiveness . This effectiveness was verified a comparison between this new system and the traditional surveying system.
The remotely controlled robots are mounted on commercially available construction machines in order that they can be operated from a safe distance. There are remotely controlled robots for backhoe, crawler dump and bulldozer. We have used these remotely controlled robots in various disaster-relief works and confirmed their utility in disaster-relief works, where they can prevent further damage or secondary disasters Index Terms-remotely controlled robots, backhoe, bulldozer, crawler dump, disaster-relief work
Following typhoons, floods, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, it is often necessary to undertake emergency works under the continual threat of secondary disasters. In order to execute these works as safely as possible, it is important to rapidly characterize ground conditions at the disaster sites. In order to achieve this, a portable cone penetration testing apparatus that could be attached to a two-armed, remotely operated robot was developed. This paper outlines the development of the remotely controlled cone penetration test system and the test results obtained to confirm the applicability of the apparatus to real-world situations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
