Ländliche Armut stellt ein wissenschaftlich vernachlässigtes und zugleich komplexes Phänomen dar, in dem sich verschiedene Ungleichheitsrelationen in den Dimensionen von Geschlecht, Klasse und Raum kreuzen und überlagern. Um die Intersektionalität ländlicher Armut gesellschaftsanalytisch einzubetten, votiert der Beitrag für eine Betrachtung des Phänomens aus der Perspektive von Theorien sozialer Reproduktion. In diesem Rahmen werden aktuelle Forschungsbefunde einer feministischen politischen Ökonomie ländlicher Armutsräume präsentiert, die zeigen, dass ländliche Armut nicht nur als Resultat politischen Handelns verstanden werden kann, bei dem Betroffene sich zunehmend selbst überlassen werden; vielmehr werden ländliche Armutsbetroffene und insbesondere Frauen der Arbeiter*innenklasse auf doppelte Weise ausgebeutet.
