The objective of the research was to obtain useful information on physical training for senior handball players, for this purpose we developed and applied a training plan designed to achieve a high level of physical training. Each test applied to athletes was relevant, in order to obtain useful information on physical training, for senior handball players. Specialization and differentiated treatment of players during training is a fundamental methodological orientation in modern sports training, required by the heterogeneous composition of groups of players in terms of somato-functional development and motor skills qualities. The research conclusions, obtained after applying the initial and final tests, indicate the need to apply training programs specific to the sport played, customized according to the specifics of the game, age and motor experience, to improve the physical training of senior handball players. A good physical condition and specific to the handball game is essential in the current handball game and offers the optimal conditions for obtaining sports performance. A contribution to the development of the training process has the training plan which establishes the objective, the share of specific training factors for each training stage. The means and methods exposed in the training program of the experiment group were successful, and its effect materialized through a real increase in motor skill indices. At the final test, the athletes included in the control group reported a relative and insignificant evolution of the specific physical condition, at the final tests for the evaluation of the specific physical condition obtaining a significant improvement of the results.
The aim of the research was to obtain useful information concerning strength preparation of the senior men’s handball players, completing and applying a questionnaire to achieve this purpose. Every question has a precise objective, in order to obtain useful data concerning physical preparation, especially strength, of the senior men’s handball players. The conclusions of this research, obtained after analyzing the answers from the questionnaire, require some adjustments in order to improve the physical preparation of the senior’s male handball players. In the handball game, the specialists specify the need to identify the specific manifestation forms of the strength as indispensable, and the knowledge of the relation of the strength with the other motor qualities is essential to determine its role and place in the general and specific physical training. For the practice of the handball game at a high level, the relationships strength-speed, strength-resistance, strength-skill, strength-mobility are important.
In order to properly prepare a team, it is necessary to act physically, technically, tactically and motivationally to learn to analyze the situations of the game and to solve them in complex conditions. Achieving sporting performance is based on the implementation of an optimal game strategy and concept, from which game models are developed and training models are tailored according to the potential of the team. In order to achieve performance in handball, efficiency is an essential part, and this largely depends on the handball player's experience and his ability to concentrate on key moments of matches. The increasing number of scored goals is a consequence of the increasing number of attacks, the reduction of the duration of the attack and the marking of goals on the counterattack; all these rely on the principles of dynamic and fast pace game. To meet these requirements in the current handball, players have to face the new physical, technical and tactical demands required by the fast and sustained rhythm of the game. The difference in game is done by individual or small group actions and where decisional speed is essential in gaining efficiency and performance, so workouts must focus on: improving the technique and individual tactics; creating the ability to solve the 1-to- 1 relationship in attack and defence; compliance with the established tactical plan; to improve collaboration on small groups (2 to 2, 3 to 3).
The variety of handball playing positions produces implications on the physical, motor and physiological particularities of the players, being necessary an individualization of the training according to the specific requirements of the playing position. The development of strength capacity is done during all phases of the training, and the content used to optimize strength capacity at senior handball players of the group subjected to the experiment was varied, diversified and adapted to each trainingsession. The aim of the research was to design and apply a training methodology that would lead to the optimization of strength capacity at senior handball players with consequences in terms of performance and level of game efficiency. The following control tests were used to assessthe subjects' strength indices: test 1 maximum repetition for semiflexion, chest push-up and chest lift, and the plate test was used for the isometric strength. The results obtained by the experimental group at the strength tests applied in research aredue to the specific strength training used for a period of 6 months. The designed strength program for handball players was implemented considering the characteristics of the handball game, athletes’ particularities in order to achieve a better efficiency in training and competition. The intergroup statistical analysis of the final testing indicates statistical significance in favor of the experiment group, which confirms the efficiency of the means used in the training, ensuring an optimal framework for obtaining performance in competitions.
