Abstract Introduction: The perception of quality of life and psychological stress vulnerability of final-year medical students are dimensions that need further evaluation and understanding to inform interventions to enhance quality of life and decrease stress susceptibility. Material and Methods: Observational study conducted in December (2015) at Health Sciences Faculty of Beira Interior University, through application of EQ-5D index, 23-QVS scale and epidemiological survey. Results: Population of 126 students and a sample of 108 (85, 7%), mean age 24, 2 ± 2, 3 (22-37) years, 69, 4% female. Mean EQ-5D index of 1, 12 ± 0, 18 and 23-QVS of 32, 53 ± 12, 11. Good Quality of Life for 57, 4% and stress vulnerability for 20, 4%. Worse quality of life is associated with greater vulnerability to psychological stress on the "Inhibition and functional dependence" dimension (r = 0,529, p <0,001) and total 23-QVS (r = 0,521, p <0,001). Financial difficulties increase stress vulnerability (p <0.001) and poorer health status, EQ-5D (p = 0,011). More concern about the future creates significant stress vulnerability (p <0,001) and worse health status with EQ-5D (p <0,001). Correlation coefficients between 23 QVS dimensions with EQ-5D and EQ-VAS are all significant (p <0, 05).
