El objetivo fue determinar en base a la revisión bibliográfica la efectividad, sustantividad de la acción antimicrobiana y pH delhidróxido de calcio con diferentes vehículos para medicación intraconducto. Metodología para este cometido, se realizó unarevisión de artículos publicados en las bases de datos: PubMed, Medline, Scopus, Scielo, Google académico aplicando unadelimitación temporal de 13 años e incluyendo cualquier idioma, en los cuales se eligieron de forma inicial 30 artículos de loscuales se excluyeron 10 debido a que no cumplen con los criterios de inclusión. Los vehículos que mostraron mejores resultados manteniendo un pH más alcalino del hidróxido de calcio fueron propilenglicol, agua destilada y clorhexidina al 2%. Elvehículo que mostró mejores propiedades para potencializar el efecto antimicrobiano del hidróxido de calcio es el propilenglicol puesto que es un vehículo viscoso que evidenció mejores características potenciadoras. Conclusiones: el propilenglicol esel predilecto para ser utilizado, manteniendo un pH estable y alcalino, con una gran acción antimicrobiana aportando así unadesinfección eficaz del sistema de conductos radiculares.
