The purpose of this study was to examine empirically the effects of entrepreneurial compe-tencies and characteristics on business performance. Previous studies found that competencies and entrepreneurial characteristics significantly influenced business performance. A quantita-tive method was used and 122 respondents were involved as the sample in this study, who were pempek business owners in Palembang, South Sumatra. The results indicated an effect from entrepreneurial competencies on business performance. It was also found that the entrepre-neurs’ characteristics (owners’ ages) significantly affected the businesses’ performance. This implication requires some sort of course or program for the entrepreneurs to improve their competence to direct the owners to gain better business performance. The growing age of the business owners requires equal insights to ensure age does not stop the owners from improving their business’ performance.Keywords: competency, characteristics, performance, age, entrepreneur
Diselenggarakannya kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pendampingan bagi mitra yaitu SMA Sjahkyakirti dan siswa SMA/SMK lainnya di kota Palembang serta Mahasiswa dengan Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) kewirausaahaan yang menjalankan proses bisnis di lingkungan Universitas. Berkembangnya UMKM di Indonesia memberikan kesempatan bagi kaum muda untuk bisa mandiri dan mengembangkan usaha sendiri. Namun, hal tersebut tidaklah mudah karena beberapa faktor seperti minimnya pengetahuan tentang kewirausahaan dan sulitnya mendapatkan modal usaha. Pendampingan yang diberikan berupa pelatihan dan pemberian wawasan mengenai motivasi kewirausahaan dan pengetahuan terkait pembuatan laporan keuangan menggunakan aplikasi Buku Kas. Pencatatan usaha yang efektif dapat menciptakan laporan keuangan yang memadai dan pada akhirnya diharapkan mendapatkan kepercayaan dari debitur. Teknik yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini berupa seminar virtual, tanya jawab, dan diskusi.

This study took data from a study on the satisfaction level of active students of XYZ class 2015-2019 from all study programs. The performance of a permanent lecturer in a university has a very broad perspective of meaning, not only stating as a result of work, but also how the work process takes place. The objectives of this study were (1) to analyze the effect of using e-learning and social media media during bold / online lectures on the performance of permanent lecturers at Musi Charitas Catholic University during the Covid-19 pandemic; (2) analyzing the effect of knowledge transfer on the performance of permanent lecturers at Musi Charitas Catholic Universityduring online / online lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic; and (3) analyzing the influence of e-learning & social media media and transfer of knowledge on performance of permanent lecturers at Musi Charitas Catholic Universityduring online / online lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic. The number of samples in this study were 62 permanent lecturers. The data technique in this research is using a questionnaire (questionnaire). The type of data used in this research is primary data. Analysis of the data in this study using multiple linear regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and classical assumptions. The results of hypothesis testing show (1) a positive and significant effect of the use of e-learning & social media media on the performance of permanent lecturers at Musi Charitas Catholic Universityduring bold / online lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic; (2) there is a positive and significant effect of knowledge transfer on the performance of permanent lecturers at Musi Charitas Catholic University; (3) the positive and significant influence of the use of e-learning & social media media and knowledge transfer on the performance of permanent lecturers at Musi Charitas Catholic University.
