Os leitões necessitam de muito cuidado nas primeiras semanas de vida. Até a quarta semana a contração de enfermidades é bastante comum em ambientes frios. Neste trabalho apresentamos o desenvolvimento de um protótipo de escamoteador controlado por sensores digitais que monitoram a temperatura. O escamoteador é composto de dutos que conduzemágua quente por baixo do piso. Sensores monitoram a temperatura e permitem ajustes que melhoram o conforto térmico dos leitões e aumentam a economia e a qualidade da produção.
Apresenta-se neste trabalho o desenvolvimento e a aplicação de dois sistemas decontrole de temperatura para escamoteadores de leitões lactentes. Em um dosescamoteadores foi instalado um piso térmico aquecido por fluxo de água. No outro,um sistema de lâmpadas que ligam e desligam automaticamente. Em ambos oscasos a temperatura interna dos escamoteadores é controlada para que os animaispermançam termicamente confortáveis. O desempenho produtivo foi avaliadoregistrando-se o número de leitões nascidos vivos e desmamados, assim como opeso ao nascimento e ao desmame. Os resultados ficaram dentro do consideradoideal.
Este artigo relata experiências exitosas de ensino-aprendizagem, no contexto da Educação Profissional Técnica de Nível Médio, a partir de práticas pedagógicas interdisciplinares. A discussão acontece no âmbito dos trabalhos desenvolvidos, durante a Semana de Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão (SEPE), por alunos dos cursos técnicos integrado ao ensino médio do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia Catarinense, Campus Araquari, num evento satélite conhecido como Painel de Integração de Conhecimentos (PIC). Como exemplo, será discutido o processo de desenvolvimento de um protótipo de piso térmico, construído com materiais reciclados. Nesse caso, o objetivo foi estudar condições favoráveis a promoção de conforto térmico para leitões. A proposta tecnológica desenvolvida pelos alunos é apresentada como uma estratégia didática, tendo em vista a transformação da escola em ambiente de criação de ferramentas de trabalho, possibilitando interações com a natureza capazes de promover resultados favoráveis aos indivíduos e à sociedade.
