O hipotireoidismo é um problema na tireoide (glândula que regula a função de órgãos importantes como o coração, o cérebro, o fígado e os rins), e se dá pela queda na produção dos hormônios T3 (triiodotironina) e T4 (tiroxina). No que diz respeito ao auxílio no tratamento do hipotireoidismo, pesquisadores relatam a importância da prática de exercício físico de forma regular. No entanto, existe uma escassez de estudos que relacionam treinamento físico para portadores de hipotireoidismo, dificultando dessa forma a escolha de uma metodologia para prescrição de exercícios físicos para esse público. Isso torna necessária a investigação utilizando diferentes formas de treinamento. O objetivo do presente estudo é investigar os efeitos de um programa de treinamento combinado (treinamento resistido e HITT) em relação aos hormônios tireoidianos (TSH, T3, T4 livre), composição corporal, força máxima e consumo máximo de oxigênio em portadora de hipotireoidismo. Os dados do estudo foram organizados no Excel® onde foram apresentados os valores das variáveis analisadas nos momentos pré e pós-intervenção e a diferença entre esses dois momentos. Os resultados demonstraram diminuição dos níveis dos hormônios tireoidianos (diminuição do hormônio estimulante da tireoide TSH, T3 e T4 livre), melhora na composição corporal e aumento na força muscular e na aptidão cardiorrespiratória. Conclui-se que o programa de 12 semanas de treinamento combinado aplicado a voluntária portadora de hipotireoidismo promoveu diminuição dos hormônios tireoidianos, melhora da composição corporal, aumento da força muscular e da aptidão cardiorrespiratória.
