The main area which Formal Safety Assessment (FSA) methodology was created for is maritime safety. Its model presents quantitative risk estimation and takes detailed information about accident characteristics into account. Nowadays, it is broadly used in shipping navigation around the world. It has already been shown that FSA can be widely used for the assessment of pilotage safety. On the basis of analysis and conclusion on the FSA approach, this paper attempts to show that the adaptation of this method to another area-risk evaluating in operating conditions of buildings-is possible and effective. It aims at building a mathematical model based on fuzzy logic risk assessment with different habitat factors included. The adopted approach lets us describe various situations and conditions that occur in creating and exploiting of buildings, allowing for automatic control of the risk connected to them.
The key objective of No-Reference (NR) visual metrics (indicators) is to predict the end-user experience concerning remotely delivered video content. Rapidly increasing demand for easily accessible, high quality video material makes it crucial for service providers to test the user experience without the need for comparison with reference material. In this paper, we present a versatile measurement system and describe various optimisation strategies utilised to reach real-time operation. Furthermore, several calculation automation scripts are described, along with a dedicated graphical user interface, which gives a more comprehensive insight into the presented system. On top of that, we show the results of crowd-sourcing experiments used to estimate subjective threshold values for quality indicators. Additionally, integration with the IMCOP system is introduced.
Abstract. Assignment Problem (AP), which is well known combinatorial problem, has been studied extensively in the course of many operational and technical researches. It has been shown to be NP-hard for three or more dimensions and a few non-deterministic methods have been proposed to solve it. This paper pays attention on new heuristic search method for the n-dimensional assignment problem, based on swarm intelligence and comparing results with those obtained by other scientists. It indicates possible direction of solutions of problems and presents a way of behaviour using ant algorithm for multidimensional optimization complex systems. Results of researches in the form of computational simulations outcomes are presented.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
