Zusammenfassung Die Autorin fragt, womit der subjektive Eindruck des zeitlichen Stillstands im psychoanalytischen Prozess zusammenhängen kann. Anhand ausgewählter theoretischer Standpunkte -vor allem basierend auf Green und zweier klinischer Fallvignetten -werden vorrangig zwei Aspekte des Phänomens des zeitlichen Stillstands im Prozess von Analysen herausgearbeitet: Stillstand als Effekt von Trauma und Stillstand als Effekt von Narzissmus. Im ersten Fallbeispiel hatte der Eindruck des Stillstehens und des Zusammenbruchs der Zeit in einer bestimmten Phase der Regression mit frühen Bindungs-und Beziehungsproblemen, einem historischen intergenerationellen kumulativen Trauma und mit der nachträglichen Aktualisierung von Trauma-und Todeserfahrungen der Patientin zu tun. Im Verlauf der Analyse wurde deutlich, wie die Patientin versuchte, die Zeit zu "ermorden". Im zweiten Fallbeispiel eines narzisstisch-zwanghaften Patienten wurde Zeitlichkeit kontrolliert und abgewehrt, da in die narzisstische Schutzhülle die Vergänglichkeit -Zeitlichkeit und Tod -phasenweise nicht eindringen durfte.
