Diese Ausgabe der Zeitschrift für Volkskunde setzt das bereits in den letzten zwei Ausgaben begonnene Nachdenken über die Entwicklung des Vielnamenfachs fort, um der Debatte zur Benennung der Fachgesellschaft eine Bühne zu bieten. In dem Forum Schieflagen. Disziplinäre Entwicklungen in den ostdeutschen Bundesländern haben Friedemann Schmoll (Jena) und Ira Spieker (Dresden) sechs Kolleg*innen um ihre Einschätzung der ungleichen Institutionenentwicklung in Ost und West gebeten. Sie haben danach gefragt, in welcher Verfassung sich die "volkskundliche Kulturwissenschaft" 30 Jahre nach dem Ende der DDR aus der Perspektive von Angehörigen ihrer institutionellen Träger darstellt. Die hier versammelten Antworten eröffnen ungewohnte Perspektiven auf die ungleichen Institutionenausprägungen, ökonomischen Bedingungen und damit auch Chancenverteilung in Ost und West. Diese strukturelle Ungleichheit wirkt sich auf die individuellen Möglichkeiten der Fachvertreter*innen in den einzelnen Regionen und letztlich auf die Disziplin als Ganzes aus. Das Forum wird im Aufsatzteil durch einen Beitrag von Egon Freitag ergänzt, der anlässlich der 100. Wiederkehr von Wolfgang Jacobeits Geburtstag nach dem Fortwirken seines früheren akademischen Lehrers fragt.Für den Aufsatzteil konnten darüber hinaus noch vier weitere Beiträge über laufende oder kürzlich abgeschlossene, allesamt am Puls der Zeit liegende Forschungsprojekte gewonnen werden.Christiane Schwab widmet sich in ihrer Münchner Antrittsvorlesung Zwischen Naturgeschichte, Statistik und Gesellschaftsroman: Soziographische Wissensordnungen im Kontext einer europäischen Publizistik im 19. Jahrhundert dem anthropologischen und sozialwissenschaftlichen Denken im 19. Jahrhundert. Sie zeigt, wie populäre soziographische Skizzen in Zeitschriften die neu entstehende Welt der Moderne beschreiben und verstehbar machen. Cornelia Kühn (Berlin) befasst sich auf der Basis ethnographischer Forschung in bundesdeutschen Betrieben mit der Gemeinwohlökonomie. Sie setzt sich mit neuen Wirtschaftsformen auseinander und untersucht, inwieweit der derzeit vermehrt in Gesellschaft und Wissenschaft als grundlegend geforderte sozial-ökologische Paradigmenwechsel sich in einem Wandel ökonomischer Kulturen, Produktions-und Arbeitsweisen manifestiert. Markus Tauschek (Freiburg) befragt das derzeitig populäre Konzept der Resilienz nach seinem normativen Gehalt und zeigt, dass die viel gelobte Resilienz ebenso wie die nicht weniger gesellschaftliche begehrte Muße die mit ihnen zu bekämpfenden Probleme auch selbst erzeugen. Alexa Färber (Wien) und Heike Derwanz (Oldenburg) untersuchen die Begegnungskapazitäten in öffentlichen Räumen am Beispiel der Hamburger HafenCity. Dabei gewinnt ihr Beitrag angesichts pandemischer Zeiten und darin besonders zutage tretenden materialisierten sozialen Ungleichheiten in und durch Stadtplanungen besondere Bedeutung.
