Fabry-Perot correlation photometer for gas analysisThe spectral correlation methods have obtained great importance in the industrial gas analysis. A Fabry-Perot correlation photometer using a newly developed, thermally adjustable silicon étalon is introduced. After a short presentation of the fundamentals the paper describes the concept, the construction and the application possibilities of the photometer. Based on the exemplary measuring components CO and NO the features of the photometer are examined laying emphasis on the selectivity. Finally the relevant properties are compared with those of the NDIR correlation method.
In order to provide the possibility of other applications in the field of process monitoring besides the NO x emission measurement, the UV process photometer RADAS has been modified and extended. In this context especially requirements of the chemical industry have been taken into consideration where highly corrosive sample gases for instance are very frequent. The following article describes the modified photometric method which permits the analysis of gases in the complete ultraviolet spectral region. Further, the technical design of the extended RADAS and its practical application in process monitoring are given, where it should be mentioned that the internal calibration standard simplifies the handling of the instrument essentially.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
