Der Diskurs um die Entstehung einer gemeinsamen europäischen Kulturlandschaft hat bisher zwei Aspekte vernachlässigt, die gerade für die junge Generation zentral sind, Körperlichkeit und Kreativität. Daher fragen die Beiträger_innen dieses Bandes einesteils nach den sozialpolitischen, ökonomischen bzw. pädagogischen Bedingungen kreativer Entfaltung. Andernteils beleuchten sie spielerische Techniken der Selbst(er)findung, Körpergestaltung und Selbstdarstellung (HipHop, Tattoo, Techno) bzw. solche, die interaktiv (Tanz) oder medial (Videoclip, Computerspiel) einen Commonsense sich differenzierender Subjekte erzeugen.
