The article considers emergency situations in LNG and LPG warehouses, describes the possibility of cascade development of the accident. An analysis of the possibility of damage to the process equipment of warehouses is presented. Existing accident leak detection and temperature monitoring systems are considered. An analysis of existing fire fighting techniques and fire extinguishing agents in LPG and LNG storage facilities has been carried out, and methods for localizing and eliminating LPG and LNG combustion have been improved, taking into account low temperatures in the Far North. The main disadvantages of the applied methods of fire extinguishing in case of fuel spills, including cryogenic ones, are given. The possibility of improving LPG and LNG combustion containment and elimination methods in view of low temperatures in the Far North without the use of water-based fire extinguishing compositions is being considered. The possibility of fire localization and elimination with the use of porous materials with pore size less than the maximum safe experimental gap, as well as emergency drain systems using a fire retardant with the design of heat exchange devices ensuring flame localization for a long period of time is proposed. The application of the presented solutions will increase the efficiency of fire fighting and ensure the safety of LPG and LNG warehouses.
The main reasons for the occurrence of oil outbursts from burning reservoirs are considered. To prevent the release of oil from a burning reservoir, they must be forced and intensively mixed using bottom sediment systems. Measures for pumping oil from burning reservoirs are proposed.
The importance of oil for Russia, its storage in warehouses of oil and oil products, as well as the danger associated with the occurrence of accidents and incidents are considered. Examples of accidents that have occurred with the resulting consequences are given. The necessity of carrying out checks using checklists is revealed. Using the modeling method, a mobile application has been designed and developed, which contains a checklist consisting of questions on assessing the industrial safety of an oil product storage warehouse. The mobile application will allow you to conduct a “self-test” of the protected object on all issues of industrial safety, according to the checklist. Notification of upcoming inspections will provide an opportunity to prepare in advance for inspection by regulatory authorities in the field of industrial safety. Notification of violated dead-lines for eliminating the comments and shortcomings identified during the check will allow the management of the facility to respond in a timely manner and thereby ensure reliable protection of the protected object.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
