AbstractThe first known representatives of the family Cantharidae are described from Socotra: Silidius svihlai sp. nov. and Socotrasilis enigmatica gen. et sp. nov. Dorsal habitus, pronotum and aedeagus for each species are illustrated. Both species seem phylogenetically isolated, with no known close relatives.
