This study was done to identify the influence of ego-resilience, emotional intelligence and stress coping strategies on college adjustment in nursing students. The subjects consisted of 158 freshmen & sophomores attending three nursing colleges. The data were collected from October 27 to November 7, 2014, using self-report questionnaires. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. A positive correlation was found for college adjustment with ego-resilience, emotional intelligence, stress coping strategies. In addition emotional intelligence, ego-resilience, school record, satisfaction with nursing major, personal relations, gender accounted for 53.9% of variance in college adjustment. The strongest predictor of college adjustment was emotional intelligence. The findings suggest that development of emotional intelligence and ego-resilience in nursing students is important to college adjustment. It is necessary to develop systematic management of the program to integrate the educational curriculum and extra-curricular activities.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of nurses' participatory decision-making, organizational justice, supervisory support on job satisfaction focused on mediating effect of work-life conflict. Methods: The empirical analysis data of this study was extracted from the 5th Korea Working Conditions Survey; 2017 conducted by 'Korea Occupation Safety & Health Agency'. The subjects of the analysis were 476 nurses. SPSS 22.0 was used for the analysis, and the analysis methods were descriptive statistics analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. Results: The significant factors related to work-life conflict included participatory decision making (B = 0.28, p < 0.001) and organizational justice (B =-0.16, p < 0.05). Organizational justice (B = 0.22, p < 0.01) and supervisory support (B = 0.29, p < 0.01) increased job satisfaction, while work-life conflict (B =-0.10, p < 0.01) decreased job satisfaction. Organizational justice was a mediator between work-life conflict and job satisfaction. Conclusions: In the case of nurses, it is desirable to increase organizational justice and support of the supervisor, and various studies on practical methods and educational programs that can reduce work-life conflicts are needed.
