A 4(6methyl3nitro2oxo1,2dihydropyridin4yloxy)phthalonitrile has been used to prepare a novel Zn(II) phthalocyanines with four peripheral pyridone substituents. The compound has been characterized by UVvisible absorption, FTIR and 1 HNMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and MALDITOF mass spectroscopy. The fluorescence, triplet quantum and singlet oxygen quantum yields have been determined and TDDFT calculations have been used to identify trends in the electronic structure.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
