Objective The research was conducted as a randomized controlled study to determine the effect of virtual reality glasses on the mother’s pain and satisfaction during episiotomy. Methods The sample consisted of 50 pregnant women determined by randomization among primiparous pregnant women. Data were collected with the Mother Information Form and Visual Analog Scales Pain and Satisfaction Evaluation forms. 5 mL of lidocaine was administered to mothers in the intervention and control groups during episiotomy repair. Only the mothers in the intervention group watched a video with virtual reality glasses for an average of 10 minutes during the episiotomy procedure. SPSS 22.0 was used in the analysis. Results In the comparison between the groups, it was found that the mean pain score measured during episiotomy inner and episiotomy skin suturing was statistically significantly lower in the intervention group than in the control group; there was no significant difference between the intervention and control groups in the mean pain scores measured before and after episiotomy repair. It was determined that the mean satisfaction score of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group. Conclusion Virtual reality glasses reduced pain during episiotomy and increased satisfaction. According to the results, it is recommended to be used by midwives because it is an easily applicable non-pharmacological method and increases the mother’s birth satisfaction.
Artificial intelligence; It is a multi-disciplinary information technology to identify those who are raised with the technology of the future with the identities coded by the education, and to produce the project with inferences. In the health heater; Use in the use of artificial intelligence to scale up standards. In this sense, it is something that should be considered that its use in the field of artificial intelligence and health should not be perceived by its personnel. 68 health personnel who volunteered to participate in the study were included. The 'Identification of Opinions on Artificial Intelligence Data Collection Form' consisting of 24 questions was made online. SPSS 25.0 package program was used for statistical analysis of the data and evaluated using descriptive statistics. P<0.05 was considered significant in the evaluation. According to the research results; It has been observed that 94.1% of healthcare professionals have heard of the concept of artificial intelligence before. However, 32.4% of them stated that they were afraid of artificial intelligence taking place in our lives, 58.8% of them stated that they did not know about its applications in the field of health, while 95.6% of them stated that they did not receive training on artificial intelligence during their education. 83% of them stated that they wanted to attend conferences/trainings, 86.8% of them supported the teaching of artificial intelligence courses in their university education, and 83.8% of them supported the increase of artificial intelligence applications and research in health. Based on our work with healthcare professionals; We can say that health personnel want to learn about this subject and that they are supportive for the use of artificial intelligence tools in health service delivery. However, it is possible to say that their knowledge is insufficient and they have not received any training. We can say that adding instructive activities such as artificial intelligence courses, conferences, informatics and innovation fairs, especially during university or master education, to the education processes of all universities will be an effective initiative in this direction. As a result, more training and research needs to be organized in order to use artificial intelligence systems in the field of health.
Objectives: This study was carried out to determine the traditional practices that women who have just given birth apply to their babies. Methods: The research is descriptive. The participants were recruited from women who had just given birth to 198 women in a maternity hospital. The data was collected through the personal information form. The chi-square test was used to plan the categorical data in detail as the mean of the research data, as numbers, and as percentages. p < 0.05 was accepted as meaning. Results: It was determined that traditional practices frequently used by women; The use of the yellow blanket against jaundice, swaddling so that the waist does not sink in, staying warm, being hard as steel, and having straight legs and the use of salt. It was determined that these practices were applied more by mothers who graduated from primary school. Although the frequency of use of applications such as burying the belly in the garden and throwing it in the water was found to be significant by age, it was determined to be used more in the group aged 31 and over. It has been determined that wearing evil eye beads is more common among mothers under the age of 25. Conclusions: In our study, it was observed that traditional practices were widely applied in the neonatal period. Newborn health should be supported by providing continuous midwifery care to women, education, and health checks.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
