Copper I 7400 Synthesis and Characterization of New Pyrochlore Solid Solution Bi 1.5 Sb 1.5 Cu 1-x Mn x O 7 . -The new pyrochlore solid solution of title (x = 0, 0.2, 0.8, 1) is prepared by solid state reaction of stoichiometric mixtures of Bi2O3, Sb2O3, MnO2, and CuO (1000°C, 72 h). The samples are characterized by powder XRD, SEM, magnetic susceptibility, and electrical conductivity measurements. Bi12Mn8Sb12O56 crystallizes in the cubic space group Fd3m (A2B2O7-pyrochlore structure) with Mn 2+ cations present on both A-and B-sites. The magnetic and electrical properties indicate that Bi12Mn8Sb12O56 is a paramagnetic conductor with semiconducting behavior. -(SELLAMI*, M.; CAIGNAERT, V.; HAMDAD, M.; BAKKA, A.; BETTAHAR, N.;
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
