SUMMARYClose-contact melting processes of phase change material (PCM) inside a horizontal elliptical tube are studied. The theoretical formulas of the melting rate, thickness of liquid layer, elapsed time of solid PCM and Nusselt number during the heat melting process are obtained by analyzing. The results include those of contact melting inside a horizontal cylinder. Finally, the influences of elliptical compression coefficient and temperature difference in melting are discussed, and useful conclusions are drawn.1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
Hydrate equilibrium conditions of
the CO2 + HFE254 or
cyclopentanone + water system are determined by the isometric method.
The presence of cyclopentanone promotes CO2 hydrate formation,
while HFE254 does not affect the equilibrium pressure of CO2 hydrate. The hydrate dissociation temperature of the CO2 + cyclopentanone system increases as the pressure increases. However,
the hydrate equilibrium temperature gradually decreases when pressure
is above 3.2 MPa and a mixed hydrate of structure I and structure
II forms. It can be seen that cyclopentanone is a thermodynamic accelerator
that can promote the formation of CO2 hydrate.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
