2012 Artigo Original Participaram 13 voleibolistas do sexo feminino (15,6 ± 0,9 anos). Eletromiografia. Desempenho esportivo. Respostas neuromusculares dos membros inferiores durante protocolo intermitente de saltos verticais em voleibolistas Neuromuscular responses of the lower limb muscles during vertical jumping in volleyball athletesAbstract: The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance and the electromyographic responses of the muscles Rectus Femoris, Biceps Femoris and Gastrocnemius Medialis during vertical jumping protocol. Participated 13 female volleyball players (15,6 ± 0,9 years). Initially was performed a protocol of maximum power (three maximum jumps), followed by resistance jumps protocol (cycles of three maximum jumps in about 10 seconds (s) -one jump every three s, with recovery of 15s. The duration of resistance protocol was 20 minutes. Technique used was countermovement jump without the aid of arms on a mat of contact. The data collected during the jumps were divided into four periods containing 12 cycles each. The results showed a decrease in the height of the jumps of about 1,3cm between the periods from 1 to 4, and this decrease was more significant in the 3 rd and 4 th periods compared with the 1 st and 2 nd . However, with respect to the variables R...
Thirteen male and female university students participated in this investigation (18-23 years old). The subjects completed abdominal crunch exercise until exhaustion with 20, 40, 60 and 80% of the maximum load. The root-mean-square (RMS) from electromyography activity of the rectus abdominis and obliquus externus muscles from the first and last three repetitions from each workload performed was analyzed. RMS for the last repetitions increased in relation to the first repetitions for the 20% workload, first two repetitions on 40% workload and first repetition on the 80% workload. There was no difference for the 60% workload. Results showed that external load on abdominal crunch exercise might be an alternative to increase intensity while performing abdominal crunch exercise, which on its turn can be a practical tool for subjects that aim to increase abdominal strength level.
