La capacidad de percibir expresiones emocionales o entender el comportamiento social de las personas en situaciones específicas, es una habilidad que se desarrolla en los primeros años de vida y puede verse alterada ante la presencia de algún trastorno. El objetivo de este estudio fue describir y comparar la teoría de mente y la percepción social en adolescentes entre 11 y 15 años con Trastorno por déficit de atención e hiperactividad (TDAH) y Trastorno negativista desafiante (TND) en comorbilidad con TDAH (TDAH/TND). La muestra estuvo conformada por 30 sujetos elegidos por un muestreo intencional, de los cuales 10 correspondían al grupo de casos con TDAH, 10 al grupo con TDAH + TND y 10 hacían parte de un Grupo Control (sin patología aparente). Se aplicaron las pruebas de falso paso (Faux Pas) de Baron-Cohen, O’Riordan, Stone, Jones & Plaisted (1998), y la prueba de lectura de la mirada de Baron-Cohen (2001). Los resultados muestran diferencias significativas entre los dos grupos de estudio y el grupo control en relación a la percepción de expresiones emocionales y percepción del comportamiento social. No se encontraron diferencias significativas entre los dos grupos de casos (TDAH y TDAH+TND), con respecto a las variables. Los trastornos que tienen como base neuroanatómica una disfunción en los circuitos fronto-estriados suponen un déficit en cognición social que afecta los procesos perceptivos, cognitivos y emocionales involucrados en la adecuada interacción social fundamental en la etapa adolescente.
El Bullying es un fenómeno social contemporáneo que impacta en múltiples estructuras y contextos sociales. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo establecer la asociación entre funciones ejecutivas (FE), cognición social en adolescentes y el bullying. Estudio descriptivo transversal con una muestra de 109 sujetos seleccionados mediante un muestreo por conveniencia. Se realizó una regresión logística multinomial, encontrando que la cognición social es un factor protector (OR: .17 IC 95% .05-.59) (OR: .27 IC 95% .08- .85) en el grupo de los agresores respecto a los controles; así como en el grupo de víctimas respecto a los controles (OR: .15 IC 95% .05 – .42) (OR: .30 IC 95% (.11- .82). De esta manera, una adecuada cognición social se asocia como un factor protector ante el bullying y el presentar déficits en las FE se asocia a un incremento del riesgo de tres veces de padecerlo.
Objetivo: describir la eficacia de un programa de estimulación cognitiva en memoria de trabajo y velocidad de procesamiento en niños neurotípicos de 7 a 12 años. Metodología: estudio cuasi experimental con grupo experimental pretest – postest, de tipo transversal, se aplicó prueba de inteligencia Wisc IV para evaluar áreas de memoria de trabajo (MT) y velocidad de procesamiento (VP). Mediante un muestreo intencional se seleccionaron 10 niños con escolaridad entre 2° y 5° de primaria, quienes obtuvieron puntuaciones en la categoría de inferior (70-89) en las subpruebas MT y VP del Wisc IV. Se utilizó el programa de estimulación cognitiva Brainner Trainner en sesiones de 60 minutos, 3 veces por semana. Resultados: se encontró una diferencia significativa de 6 puntos en MT entre el pre test (M= 80,9) y post test (M=86,8) y de 2 puntos en VP entre el pretest (M=87,8) y postest (M=90,9) indicando un aumento en el rendimiento cognitivo posterior a la intervención.
