In a high temperature superconducting (HTS) DC induction heater, an HTS coil and an iron core are essential to generate DC magnetic field and form the magnetic circuit. To understand effect of the iron core on the critical current and the inductance of the HTS coil, we prepared a double pancake coil (DPC) and an iron core in this study, and measured the critical current and inductance of the DPC. The experimental results were compared with the numerically calculated ones as well. The measured critical currents of the DPC without and with the iron core are 89 A and 84 A, respectively. Thus, the iron core does affect the critical current. Moreover, the measured inductances are 6.94 mH and 45 mH. The measured data of the critical currents and the inductances are in good agreement with the calculated results.
Abstract-Basic education is the most fundamental thing in design education. That is to say, is it suitable for colleges to stick to the repeated painting learning education when training innovative thinking if they were already familiar with it? Does this consistent way of education limit the students' ability of creative thinking? Does it really help when discussing how to solve the problems such as modeling and solving problems, and how to help students' creative thinking? By understanding the Bauhaus education idea and the analyze the famous Bauhaus educator, this thesis will explore the fundamental education of Bauhaus on how it carries out, do a comparative analysis on the development of Britain, the United States, and South Korea's basic design education, and explore the new basic education method of modeling design in China universities.
In high temperature superconducting (HTS) applications, joining two HTS wires is considered as an essential process for extending the available length. Many soldering and diffusion joints have been designed in recent years, but these joints mainly focused on joining two HTS virgin tapes with 4mm width and 0.15mm thickness. As for the recently developed soldered-stacked (SS) HTS wire, it does not have applicable methods of joining. In this paper, we proposed a novel technique to join two SS wires by soldering and stacking, and measured the joint resistance to demonstrate its feasibility of engineering. First, we join separate layers in SS wires using spot-welding machine. Second, we coat these layers in the solder bath. This method allows making joints and manufacturing SS wires simultaneously. This work will introduce the specification of this jointing method for SS wire, and the related experimental results will provide a reference for the SS wire joint fabrication in the future.
