Hypertension in the elderly in Central Sulawesi Province as of 2019 was 213,686 people. Hypertension exercise is effective in decrease hypertension in the elderly. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of hypertension exercise on systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the elderly who suffer from hypertension. This research is descriptive-quantitative with a pre-experimental design using one group time series design (Pre-Test and Post-Test), at the Tresna Werdha Tentena Social Institution, July 2020. The population is 63 and The sample is 15 elderly people. Data analysis used the one-sample dependent t-test. The results of the analysis of research data that the blood pressure of the elderly in the systolic pretest obtained a systolic t value of 4.08 and a diastolic value of 1.57, with acceptance criteria (t > 2.14), then the systolic value means that Ho is rejected, meaning that there is a difference between pretest and post-test, As for the diastolic value, Ho is accepted, meaning that there is no difference between the pre-test and post-test. The conclusion is that elderly hypertension exercise is quite effective for controlling hypertension in the elderly, especially for reducing the level of systolic blood pressure in the elderly, if it is carried out regularly and is controlled and sustained, while for diastolic blood pressure, the level of effectiveness obtained is unknown.
This study aimed to determine the effect of Benson's relaxation technique on reducing pain scale in patient with TURP post-surgery. Six patients after 2 hours post of TURP surgery were taken as respondents to be given Benson relaxation for 10 minutes. Before and after the intervention, the patient's pain scale was measured by using a numerical pain rating scale, and additional data such as blood pressure and pulse were then processed and analyzed by using SPSS. The result of the research was that the average pain score of the patient before and after the intervention was 3.50 and 2.00 with a p-value = 0.024. For blood pressure, the average systolic before and after was 126.67 and 121.67 with a p-value = 0.203, while diastolic before and after was 73.33 and 73.33 with p = 1,000. For pulse, the average score before and after the intervention was 78.00 and 75.00 with a p-value = of 0.279. This research shows that Benson's relaxation technique has an effect on reducing pain scale. Keywords: Benson relaxation, Reduce pain, Trans urethral resection of prostate (TUR-P)
One of the health problems experienced by elderly is sleep disturbances both in quality and quantity which can cause effects such as forgetfulness, confusion and disorientation, if it IS happened in long term it will cause trauma. Result: This massage therapy can improve the sleep quality of the elderly because in the pre test it was found that all the elderly experienced sleep quality disorders and in the post test, it was found that there were 17 of 22 elderly already had good sleep quality but there were still 5 elderly who had mild sleep quality disorders. It is hoped that health workers will continue to apply complementary therapies to the community so that they can improve the health of the community.
