This study focused on supporting the professional development of information technologies pre-service teachers with e-mentoring approach. The e-mentoring program was conducted in four basic phases; preparation, matching, interaction and finalizing. In the study, the data were collected via researcher journals, semi-structured interviews held with the participants, focus-group interviews and reflection reports written at the end of the program. The collected data were analyzed with the software of Nvivo 8 and divided into themes for presentation. The duration and frequency of interactions and the communication tools preferred differed from one matching to another. In addition, the interactions revealed gains professional development in terms of such areas as sharing knowledge and experience, guidance and goal setting, knowing more about the university and adaptation, easily access to counseling, developing self-confidence, developing communication skills, social and affective support, keeping one's knowledge updated and reinforcement. It was seen that the e-mentoring program had positive influence on their professional development besides the formal education given to the participants. The e-mentoring program helped students, academicians and graduates share their knowledge and experience with each other and develop their social networks. The participants had the opportunity to view their career as a whole and received guidance regarding the career processes.
Kalanchoë cultivars rank as one of the most sold potted ornamental plants in the world. Among its key features that sustain high market interest are the long flowering period, abundance of flowers, thick and glossy leaves, easy maintenance and less water requirement compared to other potted plants. In breeding studies of Kalanchoë, plants with different flower colors such as white, cream, yellow, orange, red, pink and purple were developed. Moreover, double-flowered cultivars (comprising a large number of petals), more compact and cultivars with larger flowers were also obtained. Novel morphological characteristics are always in high demand in the market of ornamental plants. Increasing the variation in the gene pool with different species played a major role in the development of these characteristics. Nowadays, not only potted cultivars are launched but also cut flower cultivars have been developed and presented to consumers. Besides conventional breeding and interspecific hybridization, biotechnological methods, which have a promising future, are used to develop morphological characteristics of Kalanchoë.
The aim of this study is to examine negative effects of using WhatsApp social network application in educational processes and to create a conceptual framework in this manner. In order to examine the literature related to the research topic, sources in different databases were evaluated and research works after especially 2010 have been considered accordingly. A holistic framework regarding negative results of using WhatsApp in education has been tried to be established by examining the sources in detail. There is currently not too many scientific research works on benefits and disadvantages of using WhatsApp in long-term. But since this application has been accepted by many researchers as an instant messaging approach, it appears to be a small number of studies analyzing the effects of over-use of instant messaging take place in the associated literature. When the data obtained within this research is examined it is possible to express that the students addicted to instant messaging are inadequate in academic processes, they cannot control the time spent for messaging, they neglect their homework and they are also less disciplined compared to other students. Additionally, it is also seen these students' comprehension levels, learning skills, productivity and academic achievements have been affected negatively. It is also remarkable that students using instant messaging during reading tasks can increase the time required for completing reading, and may even feel sleepiness during daytime.
The goal of this research is to examine self-directed learning skills of distance education students in terms of different variables. The research is a descriptive study and it is based on survey research. There are a total of 151 students in the study group;
Bu çalışmada sözlük, sözlük bilim, sözlükçülük ve sözlük araştırmacılığı ile sözlük kuram, ilke ve yöntemleri ele alınmıştır. Türkiye'de çok sayıda sözlük ve sözlük bilim/sözlükçülük üzerine yapılan çalışma vardır. Bu yazılarda yer alan sözlük yapma, sözlük araştırma kuram, ilke, yöntem ve kuralları tespit edip bir araya getirerek değerlendirmek istiyoruz. Sözlük bilim çalışmaları genel olarak kuramsal ve uygulamalı olmak üzere iki koldan yürütülmektedir. Sözlük, sözlük bilim, sözlükçülük, sözlük türleri gibi terimler kavramsal olarak ele alınıp tanımları yapılmış, bilim insanlarının bu terimleri nasıl kullandığı ve nasıl tanımladığına dikkat çekilmiştir. Yüzyıllar içerisinde sözlük, sözlükçülük ve sözlük bilim içerik ve ilke ve yöntemler bakımından değişikliklere uğramış, eski sözlük tecrübelerine yenileri eklenerek kimi yeni ve farklı görüşler ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu farklı görüşleri tespit edip bir araya getirip değerlendirmeye gayret edilmiştir.
İnsanlığın kadim sorunlarından biri de "pandemi" olarak adlandırılan salgın ve bulaşıcı hastalıklardır. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü'nün 2019 raporunda tanımlamasına göre, SARS-CoV-2 adı verilen yeni bir koronavirüsün neden olduğu bu son pandemi ise COVID-19 olarak adlandırılmıştır. COVID-19, küresel anlamda tüm insanların hayatını etkilemiş ve gündelik hayat rutinlerini değiştirmiştir. Pandemiyle mücadele kapsamında ortak kullanılan alanlarda yapılan faaliyetler kısıtlanırken, çalışma ve eğitim hayatları çevrimiçi ortamlara taşınmıştır. Öğrenci ve çalışan kesimin de faaliyetlerini mümkün olduğunca konut ortamına taşıması, konut içinde çalışmanın önemini arttırırken, konutun işlerliğini de sorgulanır hale getirmektedir. Dışarı çıkma yasaklarının yoğun şekilde yaşandığı ve çeşitli kullanıcı profillerinin farklı sorunları deneyimlediği zorlu pandemi süreci, yapılan bu çalışmaya zemin oluşturmaktadır. Kısıtlamalardan dolayı, anket yöntemiyle Antalya ölçeğinde gerçekleştirilen çalışmada; "konut" kavramına ilişkin söylemlere, bir bakış açısı daha getirilmek istenirken, COVID-19 pandemisi sırasında kronik hasta ve sağlıklı bireylerin konut mekânı deneyimlerinin ayrı ayrı değerlendirildiği bir karşılaştırma yaparak, gündelik deneyimlere dair farklılıkları ve benzerlikleri saptamak amaçlanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, tümünün sağlıklı olduğu ve en az bir hasta bireyin yaşadığı konutlardaki deneklerin konut deneyimleri karşılaştırılmıştır.
Procedures for asymbiotic germination and seedling development under in vitro and ex vitro conditions were investigated for Bletilla striata. Five different asymbiotic germination media (½ P6668 ¬Phytamax Orchid Maintenance Media, ½ P6668 ¬Phytamax Orchid Maintenance Media with coconut water, P723 PhytoTechnology Orchid Seed Sowing Media, P723 PhytoTechnology Orchid Seed Sowing Media with coconut water, and ½ MS media) for in vitro culture and sphagnum moss for ex vitro culture were examined for their effectiveness for 8 weeks on seed germination and seedling development of B. striata. Germination occurred in all media, however, the best germination rate was obtained in P723 medium with coconut water while the lowest frequency was obtained in sphagnum moss. Moreover, the highest leaf parameters of the seedlings of B. striata developed in ½ MS medium when the seedlings in sphagnum moss showed the lowest results. Furthermore, all germinated protocorms showed rhizoid formation in all media.
