The human development is thc basic raw material and the potent force to build up the nation. Bangladesh cmcrgcd as an independent country on Dcccmbcr 16, 1971 with an area of 147570 square k. m. It is one of the most populous and developing country in the World. The total population of our country is 129.25 million and among the total population 94.34 and 28.81 million pcoplcs lives in rural and urban areas respectively (BBS, 2003:ix). It is known to that cntirc people arc the rcal wealth of a nation and considered thein as human resource. All thc dcvclopmcnt initiatives dcpciid on pcoplc at large. But unemployment rate is 3.7 percent in our country and they arc disadvantaged for not to be as a skilled manpower. Providing information on human dcvcloptncnt issues in Bangladesh, such as poverty and employment. We should emphasis on the Human Dcvclopmcnt (HD) to achieve the goal of the rcal dcvclopmcnt. But all thc efforts of HI) arc not emphasized by the dcvclopmcnt planner, policy inakcr of our country. The overall development of a country will bc absolutely impossible by neglecting the development of human resources. So wc want to analyze the conceptual fraincwork and present scenario of HD in Bangladesh in this article.
