Introduction: The mechanical trauma to the Salivary Glands’(SG) excretory duct causes the most prevalent benign lesion of minor glands named the oral mucocele. The most vital cause for the lesions was the trauma or lip-biting habit that occurs most commonly in the Lower Lip (LL). Mucous extravasation development and mucous retention type were the 2 varieties. The most prevalent one is the extravasation type. Case Report: Here, a case study of a 32-year-old male patient with a painless bulge on the LL’s right aspect for the past two weeks, together with a lip-biting history for a 1-month duration was reported. Conclusion: In any population, Mucocele can be generated. Therefore, if possible, they should be accurately treated and prohibited
Introduction: Ameloblastoma is a clinically benign and locally aggressive tumor of odontogenic origin. The tumor exhibits a variety of biological behaviors from a small cystic expansion to a large aggressive mass which is invasive, recurrent and may also show malignant transformation. Case Report: This paper reports a unique case of a female patient with giant ameloblastoma of the mandible. Radiograph revealed an enormous swelling of the left side of the face, resorption of the affected hemi-mandible. Pressure from the tumor resulted in displacement and destruction of the facial skeleton. The patient was treated by radical hemimandibulectomy with removal of the tumorous mass. Conclusion: Ameloblastoma of the mandible and maxilla is generally a benign tumor of the odontoma with locally aggressive behaviour. Post operative radiotherapy for patients at increased risk of local recurrence improves local tumor control.
Introduction: Oral and maxillofacial trauma causes the most obvious damage which is trauma to the tooth and its supporting structures. These unnoticed fractures can also cause soft tissue lacerations. Clinical examination thus plays an important role in these emergency situations. Therefore, identifying the cause, early diagnosis and surgical removal are the necessary steps to be implemented. Case Report: This paper discusses one such case of a traumatic fibroma being developed due to a hit in a pediatric patient. A 13-year-old male patient was referred to the department of Oral pathology with a swelling on the lower lip. Patient gave a history of a cricket bat being hit on his face which led to the development of the swelling. An immediate diagnostic approach was carried out in order to preserve the anatomy and morphology of the tooth. Conclusion: By this paper we focus on the dentofacial injuries which include the displacement of the tooth fragments. These soft tissue lacerations should be advocated with immediate effect with proper clinical, radiological and histopathological examination.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
