A busca por metodologias para o ensino de cartografia na disciplina geografia ainda é um desafio a ser superado, visto que a falta de acesso a meios educacionais digitais (tablets, notebooks, desktops etc.) ou lacunas de aprendizagem em séries iniciais corroboram para que o aluno desconheça ou tenha dificuldades de aprendizagem para conceitos básicos da geografia devido ao não contato com conteúdos cartográficos. Neste sentido, são objetivos do presente trabalho, (i) identificar as principais dificuldades que o aluno tem com o uso de terminologias cartográficas em sala de aula e (ii) analisar o uso do software Google Earth como metodologia de ensino de Geografia. A metodologia foi dividida em três etapas, (1) levantamento de materiais bibliográficos, (2) levantamento de materiais primários, consistindo em trabalho de campo, sendo aplicados três questionários de forma aberta, o primeiro - pré-oficina, o segundo - pós-oficina e o terceiro questionário aplicado junto aos professores de Geografia e (3) fase executada em laboratório, com o intuito de sistematizar e analisar os dados obtidos em campo, além da elaboração dos resultados e discussões. A análise dos dados permitiu afirmar que o uso de softwares como Google Earth possibilita ao professor explorar diferentes meios de "ensinar" conteúdos cartográficos inerentes ao ensino de Geografia, bem como estimula o interesse dos alunos para conhecer ferramentas digitais que possibilitam o ensino e a aprendizagem de conceitos a serem utilizados pela ciência geográfica no cotidiano.
O objetivo da pesquisa foi entender a Vulnerabilidade Ambiental da Bacia Hidrográfica Caxangá em Boa Vista-RR. O estudo foi dividido em três etapas, (i) levantamento de materiais secundários, (ii) levantamento de dados primários (imagens, coordenadas geográficas e informações socioeconômicas da Bacia Hidrográfica Caxangá) e (iii) etapa de laboratório, com cruzamento dos elementos naturais e sociais no software ArcGis 10.1. Os resultados indicam concentração de locais com vulnerabilidade alta próxima e no bairro Calungá coincidindo com uma área de concentração de pessoas com baixa renda, ou seja, em eventos de inundação, esses locais tendem a sofrer mais danos, destacando que possuem declividade baixa, além de ter uma grande concentração de pessoas e infraestrutura que podem potencializar os efeitos de um evento de inundação. Os produtos desta pesquisa devem servir de orientação para possíveis projetos de infraestrutura em locais de vulnerabilidade ambiental alta, principalmente na Bacia Hidrográfica Caxangá.
