Las medidas profilácticas inmediatas ante la mordedura de un perro son de gran importancia ya que si se las realizan oportunamente pueden evitar la muerte por la rabia humana. El objetivo del estudio es determinar cuáles son las conductas que toman las personas al ser mordidas por un perro. El estudio es de tipo descriptivo de corte transversal, cualitativo. Se realizaron encuestas en el mes de junio 2017, la muestra estuvo conformada por 1.000 personas mayores de 18 años, que viven en el municipio de que fueron mordidos por perro en una o más oportunidades. 580 (58%) personas lavaron con agua y jabón la herida, 160 (16%) limpiaron la herida con alcohol, 180 (18%) acudieron al centro de salud sin haber realizado las medidas inmediatas y 80 (8%) no hicieron nada. Se recomienda coordinar actividades de extensión en comunidades basadas en la educación sobre medidas profilácticas inmediatas post exposición a la mordedura de perros, tenencia y manejo responsable de las mascotas, así como la necesidad de optimizar la vacunación como medida para eliminar el riesgo de infección.
La Sífilis Congénita es una enfermedad que va en incremento a pesar de los controles, los estímulos y de la educación sexual brindada a la población el objetivo es establecer la prevalencia de Sífilis en mujeres embarazadas que acudieron para hacer sus controles prenatales al Hospital de Villa Pagador. Se realizó un estudio tipo retrospectivo, descriptivo de corte transversal. El grupo poblacional consiste en mujeres embarazadas que hicieron su control laboratorial antes de las 20 semanas de gestación. Durante el 2015 se hicieron laboratorio a 972 mujeres, 7 resultaron positivo, 1%. En el presente trabajo se encontró una prevalencia de sífilis materna en el hospital de Villa Pagador de 1%, menor a la prevalencia global de sífilis materna de 4,3% reportada para Bolivia en 1996
