Les roches mylonitiques de la zone de cisaillement centre-camerounais (CCC), secteur de Foumban-Bankim, sont principalement d'anciennes roches magmatiques mises en place dans la zone interne d'une marge active panafricaine en cisaillement. Elles ont des affinités calco-alcalines qui se distinguent de celles du Nord-Cameroun, par leur caractère fortement potassique et leur nature franchement shoshonitique. Cette répartition spatiale du magmatisme pré-à syn-orogénique permet de définir un gradient positif du potassium du nord vers le sud, compatible avec l'existence d'une zone de subduction panafricaine située au nord. L'évolution cisaillante de cette marge se caractérise par la superposition de deux foliations mylonitiques et par la présence de clastes δ atypiques, suggérant l'interférence de deux phases de cisaillement à sens opposés et à direction constante, évoluant en conditions profondes et superficielles, respectivement.
