The authors systematically bring together the standard mathematical properties of Fourier transforms and the experimental characteristics of diffraction phenomena. They display in detail an experimental realisation of a particular case of the convolution theorem.
This is a bachelor's degree thesis of the Bachelor on Mathematics ("Grau de Matemàtiques"), a degree included in the EHEA (European Higher Education Area), offered by the Technical University of Catalonia ("Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya"). As I belong to the first generation of EHEA students, it is the first year that this kind of thesis is done in this university, so I would like to thank the effort that all the professors, employees and students of the university, and specifically of the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics ("Facultat de Matemàtiques i Estadística"), have made to help us during the elaboration of these thesis.I would like to specially acknowledge and thank the effort of my tutor Professor Narciso Román-Roy, for his time and patience, and to Professor Xavier Gràcia, for allowing me to assist to his master lectures on Differentiable Manifolds that helped me a lot in this thesis. I would like to extend these acknowledgements to all the people that have helped me to write this paper in one or another way. I hope you will enjoy it!
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
